Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals Playing 11, IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians will be looking to open their account in their first home match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Wankhede Stadium, where they will face Rajasthan Royals on Monday.
Mumbai Indians are IPL’s perennial slow-starters and they have once again made a familiar disappointing start to their IPL campaign as they lost their first two matches.
A six-run defeat to Hardik Pandya’s former team Gujarat Titans was followed by a walloping by Sunrisers Hyderabad who won the record run-fest by 32 runs in Hyderabad, with Mumbai Indians plummeting to the last spot in the 10-team points table.

Focus on Pandya
The change at the helm with Hardik Pandya replacing five-time title-winning skipper Rohit Sharma has crated a massive controversy. In the first two matches to everyone’s surprise, Jasprit Bumrah has not been given the new ball. In the first match against Titans, it was captain Hardik Pandya who started the proceedings for Mumbai Indians. In the second match, it was Sunrisers Hyderabad young Kwena Maphaka was given the first over and he was at the receiving end of the carnage that SRH handed to Mumbai Indians. The decsion to hold Bumrah back has baffled everyone and at Wankhede, we might see MI unleashing Bumrah against Royals.
Royals unlikely to make any changes
Rajasthan Royals will look to keep ticking all the boxes after two wins at the start.
Sanju Samson remains dangerous in the early stages of the IPL while the immensely talented Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is yet to fire in this IPL, would be keen to get his first big score of this season. It is highly unlikely that they will make any changes in their playing XI.
