Virat Kohli on Monday after at the post-match presentation looked visibly emotional. His answers were as crisp as his cover drives that he played during his match-winning 49-ball 77, which helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) beat Punjab Kings by 4 wickets in front of a packed Chinnaswamy crowd.

Talking to family after the match

After the match, Kohli can be seen having a video call with his family. In the video going viral on the social media, Kohli can be seen blowing kisses to his family.

On February 15, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma became parents to a baby boy. The child who is named Akaay.

“With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on February 15th, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay and Vamika’s little brother into this world,” both Kohli and Anushka wrote on their respective Instagram handle.

Kohli opens up about paternity leave

The former India and RCB captain spoke about the two months he was away from the game to be with his family and what it meant for him to be just another person on the road.

Kohli who missed India’s five-match Test series against England due to personal reasons, opened up about the experience of being away from the game for two months.

“We were not in the country, we were at a place where people were not recognizing us. just to feel normal for two months, for me, for us as a family, was a surreal experience,” said Kohli.

“Having two kids, things become totally different from a family perspective. So just the ability to be together, the connections that you make with your older child, it’s amazing. I mean, I couldn’t have been more grateful to god for the opportunity that I got to spend time with my family and, yeah, just the place that we were in,” he added.

Kohli also shared how he felt after returning back to India after spending two quite months with his family.

“When we came back, the voices back home felt that much louder, I couldn’t look up because I was just not used to being called my name for two months and then immediately you hear these loud noises and then you’re back in it all again. But it was beautiful.

“It’s an amazing experience to just be another person on the road and not be recognized and just carry on about life that normally people would on a daily basis.”
